1:1 Chromebook Program Overview

  • The Wilmington Public Schools (WPS) is doing extraordinary things with the use of technology and our new 1:1 Chromebook program. The Chromebook Plan is an exciting program that infuses technology into every classroom. Our students will have the right digital tools to support 21st Century learning.

Students in grades 7 and 8 (rising 8th and 9th graders) need to purchase a Chromebook and bring it to school with them upon returning after the summer break for the 17-18 school year. Registration Forms should be turned into the WMS main office.

There are 5 options available to families (Download the Registration Form for more information):

    1. Purchase a Chromebook(s) through the Dell website at http://dell.com/mpp/Wilmington-K12-MA
    2. Students on free lunch will get a Chromebook on loan at no cost and students on reduced lunch will be able to purchase a Chromebook at a 50% discount after parents allow access to their data from WPS Food Services on the Registration Form
    3. Families who are under twice the poverty line can receive a 25% discount
    4. Families with a hardship can apply for a scholarship
    5. Purchase a Chromebook from another vendor.

Chromebook Registration Forms along with Scholarship forms and more information is available online at http://www.wpsk12.com/chromebooks

The technology department will configure the wireless settings for use on the school wireless network during two registration weeks (during the summer 2017) before the school year starts. Registration nights will be at WHS. Students and parents need to come to the high school for configuration at that time. If you need more information, please see our 1:1 FAQs.
