Social Studies
IMPACT Social Studies is the core program used for grades K, 1, 2, 4, and 5. It teaches the art and strategy of inquiry as teachers model how to ask questions and do research. Students learn how to analyze sources and consider multiple perspectives as they think critically about problems, events, places, and people. Each chapter inquiry project is designed to engage elementary school students by encouraging them to ask questions and look for answers while providing opportunities for students to work together collaboratively.
Massachusetts Our Home is the program used for grade 3, given the specific state standards. Massachusetts, Our Home 3rd edition is a custom-made Massachusetts history program created to be engaging and accessible for all 3rd-grade students.
The narrative text takes a skills-based approach to literacy instruction by using primary source analysis and questions to promote critical thinking. Flexible teacher materials and a powerful digital learning platform complete the program by offering differentiation tools and individualized instruction. This six-chapter textbook covers Massachusetts’ diverse geography, history, government, and economics.
