Wilmington Public Schools
Communication Plan
Our Commitment
We are committed to building a communication system that is accessible, responsive, and grounded in trust. By ensuring families have the information they need and meaningful opportunities to engage, we support stronger outcomes for all students.
Discover what’s happening at Wilmington Public Schools through our communication initiatives. We engage with students, parents, and the Wilmington community to foster understanding and support for the District. Our communications efforts include media and community relations, digital marketing, web content, social media, newsletters, print publications, public information, photography, and video productions.
Our district is committed to fostering equitable, transparent, and inclusive communication that promotes strong partnerships among students, families, educators, and the broader community. In alignment with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's focus on family engagement and culturally responsive practices, we strive to ensure that all stakeholders, especially those historically marginalized, have access to timely, clear, and accessible information in their preferred languages and formats.
We believe that two-way communication is essential to building trust, supporting student learning, and advancing educational equity. Our vision is to create a communication culture that not only informs but also listens and responds, elevating diverse voices, building shared understanding, and empowering families and staff to work collaboratively toward improved student outcomes. All communication efforts will reflect the district’s commitment to DESE’s core principles: access, engagement, and continuous improvement.
