The Massachusetts Public Records Law, found at Chapter 66, Section 10 of Massachusetts General Laws (MGL), applies to records made or received by a Massachusetts governmental entity. Unless the requested records fall under an exemption to the law, they must be made available to the requester. The definition of what is or is not a public record can be found at MGL, Chapter 4, Section 7, Paragraph 26.
